16th December 2015:
The Greater Manchester Cancer Vanguard programme held its first engagement event on the morning Wednesday 16th December. The event, held at HOME in central Manchester, was attended by around 70 people representing the full range of people involved in improving cancer care in Greater Manchester: hospital clinicians, GPs, people affected by cancer, charities, and executive directors and cancer managers from hospitals and commissioning bodies.
Delegates heard from the three partners leading the vanguard programme in Greater Manchester: NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, and Manchester Cancer. Then those assembled were given a salient reminder of what matters to patients from Mark Davies before a workshop session focused on how to harness the opportunity of the vanguard.
More detail from the event will be in our first briefings of the New Year, with a further larger event scheduled for 27th January 2016.
